Aerial drones for mapping geographic landscapes at fine spatial scales

Summary: This project acquires a set of unmanned aerial systems (UASs), supporting camera and field equipment to augment ongoing research interests in high spatial resolution (e.g. 2-cm and better) aerial imagery. These systems will support both faculty and graduate research interests, interdisciplinary collaboration on campus, and may also support classroom demonstrations. Areas of interest include terrain modeling, vegetation mapping, and monitoring environmental changes caused by both natural and anthropogenic activities.
